  1. INTRODUCTION
  2. Photo Icons 95 is a professional icon processing tool that allows 
  3. you to create and modify Windows icons at any color depths (up to 
  4. 24-bit or true color). Using high performance imaging toolkit 
  5. LEADTOOLS ActiveX Professional developed by LEAD Technologies, 
  6. an industry leader in imaging technology, Photo Icons 95 allows 
  7. you to convert any image of any size and any color depth into the 
  8. standard Windows icon format (32x32) at 16, 256, 65,536, and 16.7 
  9. million colors.  A screen capture utility is also provided so you 
  10. can capture any area of the screen into an icon. Photo Icons 95 
  11. is the ultimate icon utility you ever need to create and modify 
  12. photo-realistic icons.

  14. Photo Icons also allows you to extract icon(s) embedded inside
  15. DLL/EXE files and save them under ICO format.

  17. Images/icons can be printed to any Windows-supported printers.  
  18. You can even print icons embedded inside DLL/EXE files without

  39. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SHAREWARE & REGISTERED VERSIONS

  41. The shareware version of Photo Icons 95 allows you to create and 
  42. edit 16-color ICOs.  To create, edit, extract, convert, capture 
  43. 256, 65,536 and 16.7 million-color icons and access an array of 
  44. more than 40 different image file formats (including the most 
  45. popular ones such as BMP (Microsoft Windows and IBM OS/2), JPG 
  46. (JPEG), PCD (Kodak Photo CD), FPX (Kodak FlashPix), TIFF (Tagged 
  47. Image File Format), PNG (the new Compuserve Portable Network 
  48. Graphics), PSD (PhotoShop 3.0), WPG (WordPerfect), WMF (Windows 
  49. Metafile), PCX, CMP (LEAD 1BIT), ICA (IBM IOCA), MAC (MacPaint), 
  50. and TGA (Truevision Targa), etc.,) you must register Photo Icons 
  51. 95 to obtain the latest registered version. The current 
  52. registration fee is $29.  Please read Supported image file 
  53. format for a  complete list of all image file formats Photo
  54. Icons 95 supports.

  86. In order to gain the most from Photo Icons 95, it is recommended
  87. that you run the software under color modes higher than 256
  88. such as 32K or 64K color depth mode.

  103. Photo Icons 95 has been developed and tested on a 486DX66 with 
  104. 8MB of RAM, a 1 MB Diamond Stealth 24 Windows accelerator board 
  105. (at screen resolutions 640x480x16, 640x480x256, 640x480x65536, 
  106. 800x600x256, 800x600x65536, 1024x768x16, and 1024x768x256), a 
  107. trackball, and mouse.  It has also been tested on a 100 MHz 
  108. Pentium-based machine with 16 MB of RAM, a 1 MB Diamond Stealth 
  109. 64 SE (PCI) and a 150 MHz Pentium-based machine with 32 MB of 
  110. RAM, a 2 MB VRAM Diamond Stealth Video 3200 with the same 
  111. above settings.

  113. Photo Icons 95 was also tested on the following computers:
  114. 1) 100 MHz PCI Pentium-based computer with 16 MB RAM and a 
  115.    1 MB DRAM PCI Diamond Stealth SE.
  116. 2) 150 Mhz PCI Pentium-based computer with 32 MB RAM and a 2 
  117.    MB VRAM Diamond Stealth Video 3200 (S3-968) under the above 
  118.    resolutions and color depth modes.
  119. 3) IBM P5-133 with 32 MB RAM and a 1MB DRAM PCI Diamond 
  120.    Stealth (S3-764).
  121. 4) AST Bravo LC 4/33s with 8MB of RAM and a 512K ATI video card.
  122. 5) Sharp PC-9050 notebook computer with 32 MB RAM and a 2 MB 
  123.    VRAM PCI Trident (9660/9680/938X) linear accelerator.

  125. The following printers were successfully  tested:
  126. 1) HP LaserJet 4L.
  127. 2) HP LaserJet 5L.
  128. 3) HP LaserJet 6L.
  129. 4) Brother HL-720.
  130. 5) NEC Superscript 660plus.
  131. 6) Canon BJC-610.
  132. 7) Epson Stylus Color.
  133. 8) Epson Stylus Color Pro.

  135. Photo Icons 95 has not been tested in other environments because 
  136. I do not have all the time and resources in this rapidly changing
  137. computer world.  Therefore, unless you have the above tested
  138. hardware and software I cannot guarantee that it will work on
  139. your system.

  143. REGISTRATION
  144. ------------
  145. For your convenience, a registration form is provided on line
  146. under Help on the menu bar. The registration fee is $29.  The
  147. registered version supports over 40 image file formats.  A
  148. separate TWAIN module is also available for an additional $14.
  149. The TWAIN option adds the image scanning capability to Photo 
  150. Icons. As of this writing, I only accept money orders, cashiers 
  151. checks, bank checks, or personal checks. Please fill in the 
  152. registration form and mail it along with your payment to:

  164. Registered users will receive a temporary license file through
  165. internet e-mail (uuencoded or MIME-encoded).  The license file
  166. will recognize you as a registered user and allow you full access
  167. to all Photo Icons 95 features.  Your permanent license file
  168. registered in your name (or your company name) and the latest
  169. version of Photo Icons 95 will be in the mail the next business day.

  171. International users may transfer $US 29 directly to my Bank of
  172. America account.  There will be an additional processing fee of
  173. $10 because that's how much BoA charges my account for Fund
  174. Transfer Service.  You will have to contact me by e-mail to
  175. obtain my account number for this type of payment.

  177. A site license is required by a corporation, company, educational
  178. institution, or governmental agency for use of Photo Icons 95
  179. software on the total number of computers that will use the software.
